Heidi Gosman of Heidi Klein

Since establishing in 2002 the luxury swimwear brand Heidi Klein has attracted a following from Kate Moss to Sienna Miller and is much in demand. Beautifully designed to complement your shape and made from luxury fabrics the swimwear collections are stylish and uber-chic . Co founded by Heidi Gosman and Penny Klein, Heidi Klein now has boutiques across the globe and in 2015 saw the launch of the much anticipated kids range. Featuring nautical designs and pops of colour the kids range encompasses swimsuits, rash vest, shorts, beach dresses and even espadrilles.

With holidays and beaches in mind we were delighted to catch up with Creative Director, Mother of 3 and co founder Heidi Gosman to ask a few questions about her own travels with children and the inspiration behind the kids collection.

Favourite destination for style/creative inspiration?

I love traveling to the Amalfi Coast, Italy, every year as it's a favourite family destination for us. I love browsing through all the seasonal street markets for interesting fabrics and style inspirations. the 50's retro ambience has been the muse for many of my creations, especially the nautical collections.

We love the new Heidi Klein Kids range  - What was the inspiration behind the range?

This came about when I was looking for stylish beachwear for my own children but could not find any that I really adored. After years of selling children's wear in our boutiques, I knew exactly what I wanted my children to wear and so I created it from scratch.

Where did you spend your best family holiday?

One of our best family holidays was to the luxurious Rosewood Little Dix Bay in the British Virgin Islands. We loved the laid back Caribbean vibe, the beautiful turquoise waters and pristine white sands. We explored the stunning islands and cays and the children adored snorkeling with the turtles and fish. There were endless activities to keep them occupied and no television in the rooms - my idea of heaven.

Biggest thing your children have learnt from all their travels?

The children have been travelling from such a young age that they are totally used to it now. I have in recent years taught them the importance of packing light!

And what are your essential packing items?

A few well fitting bikini's, a flattering one piece, some cover ups, a pair of beach sandals for day/night wear, a large sunhat and a great pair of sunglasses. And sunscreen, I wear Sisley on my face and body, and St Barth's Roucou Oil which gives my skin a beautiful healthy glow.

Where will you be taking your family next?

We are planning our next family holiday in the Cayman Islands. We will take the boat out to Little Cayman where the diving is supposed to be incredible. The children will snorkel whilst my husband and I can enjoy the glistening beaches. Being the smallest of the islands, Little Cayman is known for it's tranquility and privacy which is perfect.

Snowballs or Sandcastles?

Sandcastles. I absolutely adore both skiing and beaches, however I am happiest in the sun and being on the beach is great for my inspiration!

You can follow all the latest styles and inspiration from Heidi Klein Swimwear on their Instagram account or via their blog. We are now stocking the range for Heidi Klein Kids Swimwear at Snowballs and Sandcastles.
